Everything from reverse engineering to pattern making and fully machined castings.
Machining
AJD can supply any of its castings fully machined and will handle the whole process for you if you prefer to source castings from a one-stop-shop.
We regularly supply fully machined turbo's, impellers, pump bodies, valves & machine bases, all machined on 5-axis CNC.
We will also supply architectural castings that need simple drilled and tapped holes.
Shot Blasting
All of our castings are supplied dressed and shot blast which removes all traces of sand.
This service is in-house and we have the ability to grit blast larger, fragile castings too, such as railings, balustrades, balconies and decorative gates.
Grit blasting is also an useful process when cleaning up old components that have layers of paint, grease or dirt adhered to the casting.
Reverse Engineering
We have reverse engineered lots of parts using 3D Scanning to produce new tooling that also factors in the right amount of contraction for the appropriate alloy.
3D models can be produced for any of our customers and if required, we can get 3D patterns and core-boxes made.
For very complex castings, we can get moulds 3D printed.
Pattern Making
If you would like us to handle the whole process of pattern making, right the way through to the finished machined component then contact us.
We can advise on the most suitable type of pattern, whether that is multiple impressions in a compact for our airset moulding line or a pattern plate for our greensand moulding process, feel free to ask. We can sometimes make castings off original components to keep costs to a minimum.
